We recently took a look at our top ten destinations we can’t wait to visit once lockdown ends, including a selection of the very best lads’ holiday locations such as Magaluf, Amsterdam, Budapest, and loads more. But what if it’s a little while longer before we can hop on a plane? Fear not, as we’ve decided to take a look at a few destinations that are a little closer to home, and will still mean that you and your mates can have the best post lockdown party. We love a city break here at EQVVS, and the UK has some of the very best party destinations that you can head to once this is all over. So, without further ado, here are eight UK city breaks we’re looking forward to once lockdown ends.
London

A city break in the capital is definitely something we all need to do at least once in our lifetime, and while it can be quite a pricey one, it’s worth doing for the experience alone. Our marvellous capital has something for everyone, whether it’s classic culture or fast paced nightlife. There’s over 3500 pubs and bars to visit, and the great transport links will mean you can go pretty much wherever you please. One of our top picks has to be Café De Paris, located in the heart of the West End, and one of the best theatre venues in London, where you’ll be able to catch incredible cabarets and performances in a stylish and glamorous setting.
Manchester

Regardless of whether or not you support any of their teams, Manchester is a must visit for any football fan, with plenty of kickabout culture to dive into. You can get further absorbed into the footie culture with iconic tours exploring such as Old Trafford and Etihad Stadium, or if that’s not your scene, perhaps one of Manchester’s music tours will be. With a colourful music history involving the likes of the Happy Mondays, Oasis and The Smiths, there’s plenty to see for music fans too. Plus, there’s also plenty of pubs with a friendly atmosphere, and you can grab some tasty eats at the Northern Quarter too. We also recommend paying a visit to The Printworks, the city's number one entertainment destination which has everything you could need for your weekend - bars, restaurants, leisure activities, you name it.
Dublin

A must for any lads’ city break has to be the Irish capital. This lively city is packed with some of the very best pubs and clubs, and there’s plenty of historic sites for you to explore too. Be sure to pay a visit to the Guinness Storehouse for a few pints of the black stuff, as well as explore seven floors of the brand’s history, and make sure that you also take a trip to the Old Jameson Distillery too where you can sample the iconic tipple. Just be warned, you’ll probably need a couple of days off to recover afterwards.
Liverpool

Ticking all the boxes for an ace weekend, Liverpool has it all. An incredible club scene, stylish bars, and most importantly, cheap drinks. Perfect for a pub crawl, Liverpool is home to some of the best bars in the UK, and of course, world famous music and sports history. When it comes to nightlife, there’s plenty to choose from, but one place you visit has to be the legendary Cavern Club, which is known for hosting The Beatles’ first ever performance - a must for any music fan.
Cardiff

One of the top UK destinations for stag dos, Cardiff is known for its amazing party atmosphere and buzzing nightlife. This lively city has a huge selection of bars, pubs and clubs, most of which are all within walking distance too so there’s no chance of paying pricey cab fares. In addition to the nightlife, there’s also plenty of fun to get absorbed into during the day too, with plenty of adventurous outdoor activities to sink your teeth into.
Bristol

One of the most popular destinations for a night out has to be Bristol. Home of iconic sights including the SS Great Britain and Clifton Suspension Bridge, there’s plenty of rich history behind this much loved city. Enjoy a real taste of the West Country and sample some of the very best craft beers and ciders, as well as a huge array of nightlife, including friendly pubs and buzzing nightclubs.
Leeds

One of the fastest growing UK cities, Leeds has plenty to offer when it comes to a weekend away with the boys, including a huge selection of bars and clubs. The proud home of football, cricket and rugby, it’s a city that sports fans will love, and catching a match at Headingley Stadium is a must. An ideal destination for music fans too, Leeds is home to live music venues such as the Belgrave Music Hall, where you can catch regular gigs and festivals, and The HiFi Club, which is a comedy club, nightclub and live music venue all rolled into one.
Birmingham

Finally, when it comes to a great weekend away, a trip to Birmingham is also one that should be on your list. The second largest city in the UK, and a popular choice for partygoers, Birmingham is home to Broad Street, which is packed with everything you could want on a party weekend. With nightclubs, restaurants and hotels all within easy distance, it’s the number one stop for your night out! For daytime activities, there’s plenty to do as well, but we recommend a trip to NPF Bassetts Pole, which is one of Europe’s biggest paintball sites.
The UK has plenty to offer when it comes to destinations for a lads’ weekend away, so we hope we’ve given you a few ideas on where to head next once things go back to normal. We’ve still all got some extra time on our hands, so why not get on the group WhatsApp and start brainstorming with the lads where you’ll visit first?
