There’s nothing quite like a swanky bar to get you feeling like you’ve made it. There’s something exciting about dressing up and heading to somewhere special on a night out - and the last few months have certainly got us yearning for it. While at the moment it’s difficult to think of anything other than a socially distanced pint at the local, we’re looking ahead to when travel restrictions are eased properly and we can venture out to some of the world’s most incredible destinations, and more importantly, those luxurious bars they have to offer. To help you out, we’ve rounded up our picks of the world’s most lavish bars so that you can get looking forward to that next big night out, wherever it may be.

The XS Nightclub at the Encore Hotel, Las Vegas

The XS has been coined as the best club in Vegas - and considering the amount of clubs to choose from, that’s quite an achievement. The interior of the club has a sexy and seductive vibe, with a grand entrance that’ll make you feel like royalty, and golden statues of voluptuous beauties. The club itself has its own signature drink - the Ono - if you’re able to spare the $10,000 for it, but you’ll also get a pair of men’s silver cufflinks and a ladies white gold chain so…

The Tower Suite Bar at the Wynn Hotel, Las Vegas

For those looking for something a little more low key, there's the Tower Suite Bar, located at the Wynn Las Vegas and Encore Resort. With sophisticated decor including luxurious marble floors, crisp white pillars and elegant furniture, this upscale bar is the perfect place to unwind. You can pay a visit at pretty much any time of day too, whether it’s for a cup of coffee in the morning or a specialty cocktail in the evening. The bar has a range of delicious cocktail creations for you to enjoy too, with unique creations including a White Cosmopolitan or a Cucumber and Ginger Cooler.

The Bad Luck Bar, Detroit

If you’re looking at something unique and mysterious, you’ll love the Bad Luck Bar in Detroit. Known for creating a range of imaginative, experimental craft cocktails in a dark and intimate setting, it’s the city’s best kept secret. Their inventive selection of cocktails are made with some of the finest spirits in the world, but be prepared to pay more than your average bar prices. Their most expensive cocktail, The Admiral, made with a rich, intense blend of rums, will set you back around $80.

The Bar Hemingway, Hótel Ritz, Paris

Named after its most famous regular, Ernest Hemingway, the Bar Hemingway is one of the world’s most iconic bars. This compact bar has just 25 seats and is a must-see destination for fans and visitors to the city. It bears the feel of an exclusive members’ club, with luxurious leather armchairs, an old fashioned typewriter and a lively ambience. Head bartender Colin Field, known as “the best barman in the world,” combines his 25 plus years of experience to create masterpiece cocktails that you’ll remember long after the last sip.

Bar 228 at Le Meurice, Paris

Another of the most coveted bars in Paris has to be the ultra luxurious Bar 228. The warm and inviting atmosphere is paired beautifully with a cocktail menu that’s second to none and live jazz every night. With everything from sultry, intimate lighting to a top team of barmen who can create anything from signature cocktails to unique creations, this stylish, relaxing bar is the perfect place to unwind after a busy day in the city.

The American Bar, The Savoy Hotel, Mayfair

The American Bar at The Savoy Hotel is said to be Britain’s oldest surviving cocktail bar. Full of swanky, American vibes, this sleek and sophisticated bar has won multiple awards over the years, including World’s Best Bar in 2017. Their iconic cocktail menu, The Savoy Songbook, contains a selection of delicious creations based on the songs played by the jazz pianist every night.

The Playboy Club, Mayfair

Home to the world famous Bunny Girls, The Playboy Club is one of THE places to be in London. One of the best casino experiences you’ll find in London, the luxurious casino offers plenty of high end gaming, perfect for those who like to try their luck at a little Blackjack or Poker. The cool and relaxed atmosphere is perfect for enjoying a late night cocktail, and you can even enjoy a cigar on one of Mayfair’s biggest and most comfortable terraces.

The Ice Bar, The Ice Hotel

Ice bars have been a trend that’s popped up in various cities over the world, but if you want to go straight to where it began, pay a visit to The Ice Hotel in Jukkasjärvi, Sweden. Highly skilled artists re-sculpt the interior year on year, with ice coming straight from the Torne River, making this one of the coolest places to be. Sorry, we couldn’t resist. Definitely one to add to the bucket list!

Subsix, The Maldives

If an ice bar isn’t exactly your thing, perhaps you’ll be more accustomed to the Subsix underwater bar in The Maldives. This nautical, underwater masterpiece is reached via speedboat and you’ll then descend a luxurious three tier staircase into this beautiful clamshell-like bar. Everything fits in perfectly with the underwater theme, from the anemone chairs to capiz shells decorating the ceiling, and you can kick back and relax, watching fish, eels and turtles swim by as you indulge.

The Peak Bar, Tokyo

Tokyo is jam packed with some of the world’s most iconic restaurants and bars, and right at the top of the list sits The Peak Bar. While drinks aren’t exactly the cheapest, you’ll mainly be paying for the show stopping view of the Nishi-Shinjuku skyline. Their most popular event is Twilight Time, between 5pm and 8pm, allowing for unlimited canapes and most importantly, booze, making it a great start to a night on the town.

Coccaro Beach Club, Puglia

Finally, we make a trip to Puglia, Italy. Known as the best beach club in Puglia, this relaxing and chic beach bar is perfect for soaking up a few rays while kicking back with a few cold ones. Set on a bright, sandy beach, there’s something for everyone - from delicious food to drinks, dancing, and eye catching views. What could be better?

While the possibility of jetting off to some of the world’s most luxurious bars might be a little unlikely at the moment, it doesn’t mean we can’t start planning for that next big trip. Whether it’s a destination to add to your bar bucket list, or just some inspiration for your next trip away, we hope we’ve given you some insight into some of the world’s most luxurious bars. We’ve certainly built up a bucket list of bars we can’t wait to visit when all of this is over, and we’re hoping that we’ll see you there.
