With lockdown 2.0 fully underway, minus the glorious weather this time around, it’s ‘prime’ time to get stuck in and have a movie marathon. So grab your popcorn and get ready to binge, we’ve rounded up the top five films to watch on Amazon Prime.

1. The Gentlemen

Written and directed by Guy Ritchie, starring Matthew McConaughey as Mickey Pearson, an ex-pat who made his millions by building a marijuana empire in London. Wanting to sell it off, word of the sale brings an array of plots twists and schemes, and a whole lot of bribery and blackmail from crooked characters in an attempt to steal his empire. It’s fast paced, humorous and a must-see.

2. Legend

Following the rise and fall of the Kray Twins, the 2015 flick is fantastic from the opening credits. From Tom Hardy’s sensational double performance playing both lead roles as Reggie and Ronnie, to the gritty story line, Legend is suave, charming and violent, just like the Krays.

3. 1917

Released last year and coined as the best picture of the year. 1917 follows two soldier in a race against time across enemy lines to deliver a message that will stop 1600 men from charging into a deadly trap. Rated a whopping 90% on Rotten Tomatoes, 1917 is hard-hitting, exhilarating and utterly thrilling. Filmed from a single view point with no cuts or edits to appear as one single long take, results in such an immersive cinematic experience, that you feel you are running alongside the soldiers themselves.

4. Parasite

The first non-English language film to win Best Picture, Parasite is a black comedy thriller that follows members of a poor family in their scheme to infiltrate a wealthy family by becoming employed by them. It is a film which explores the conflict between the rich and the poor class divides, but who will come out on top?

5. Knives Out

Daniel Craig stars in this comedy crime drama that sees renowned crime novelist Harlan Thrombey dead at his estate. Craig is mysteriously enlisted to investigate a web of red herrings and self-serving lies to find the truth about his mysterious death.
