Menswear Trends for 2023

As we move into 2023, there are a few key trends emerging in the world of menswear that are worth paying attention to. Across all aspects of life (yes, even responsible, adult life) there's a really significant place for expressive, trend led outfits and we're totally on board with it.

Mens fashion really is a huge spiders web of styles, both blending together and jutting away from one another. The good news is that we've got plenty of really crackin' bits so you can go mad. Go on, we trust you. And if you need a bit of a nudge, we've hand picked some of the tastiest arrivals into our warehouse

A Man Walking

All work isn't so dull with Carhartt WIP and Dickies.

With notable brands like Carhartt WIP and Dickies making moves all over social media, it's hard to come up against a style that doesn't incorporate a little bit of their workwear flair. With decades of trustworthy pieces under their belt, as well as new collections to keep us on our toes, their constantly evolving brands make it hard to to not be... well, incredibly bias. (They really are a favourite at EQVVS HQ at the minute).

So in the interest of playing favourites, here's the breakdown of some of our top bits.

Dickies | The Millerville Cargo Pants:

A versatile and durable cargo pant staple for your rugged wardrobe, Dickies have maintained their trusted brand for over 90 years and we're happy to see it make its way back, in a pretty big way, for 2023.

Though you usually hear people talk about Dickies as an ode to the 874 Work Pants (and while there's no denying the necessity of a pair of them in your wardrobe too - owing to their ability to be both smart and casual) we thought we'd touch on another pair of Dickies staple's... The cargo pants that are on everyone's want list this season.

The Millerville's are made from a durable 100% cotton twill, they're built to last with roomy cargo pockets for your phone or wallet... Or your hammer? You might actually be a tradesman.. AND they come in a range of colourways so you can definitely find something to suit your wardrobe.

Retro Reigns Supreme

And if gritty and rugged isn't quite your bag, go nostalgic with the 90's. It's one that does the rounds in fashion, but the 1990's was a decade that knew no bounds. So, whether you're feeling preppy (and ready to live vicariously through the lens of a 90's American school sitcom) or grungy, with a skateboard in hand and a flannel shirt around your waist; the 90's will have your back. Plus, the soundtrack to the 90's alone is enough to send us all into a reminiscent frenzy of our childhood.

BOSS | Water Repellent Oronzo Varsity Jacket

Call it what you will... A bomber jacket, a varsity jacket, a Letterman.

An ode to the 90's, because nothing screams preppy, collegiate styles like the elasticated cuffs and Letterman style badges of this BOSS Oronzo Varsity Jacket. Rumour has it that this is gonna be the trend of the season. It's a vintage inspired piece that's really worth investing in.

And if you want to take it a step further, why not have a look at KENZO's collection of jackets & coats, with a nod to the 90's Varsity Jacket in bold, bright colourways, as well as festival-ready windbreakers.

Oh, the humble overshirt.

Spring is finally here, and it's time to break out of those boring winter outfits and step up your style game. But what do you do when the weather can't make up its mind? That's where the overshirt comes in. This versatile piece is the perfect solution for those days when you need a little extra coverage, but you don't want to go full-on coat.

And this is why Overshirts are the real MVPs of your spring summer wardrobe.

Carhartt WIP | Relaxed Fit Stone Washed Weldon Shirt

For those of you who are not familiar with Carhartt, it is a company that specializes in workwear. Their clothes are known for being durable, practical, and long-lasting. However, their WIP (Work In Progress) line takes things up a notch by adding some fashion-forward designs and modern twists to their classic workwear styles.

But let's be honest, the real reason why people are obsessed with Carhartt WIP overshirts is that they just look cool. They have a laid-back, effortless vibe that pairs well with jeans or even dressier pants. You can wear them to work, to a night out with friends, or just lounging around the house. They're versatile, comfortable, and stylish all at the same time.

So, if you're in the market for a new shirt, consider a Carhartt WIP overshirt. It might just become your new favorite piece of clothing. And who knows, you might even be inspired to take up some manual labor just so you can fully embrace the workwear aesthetic.
