The Uneven Pigment Dyed Nylon Smerigliato + Nylon Canvas Overshirt in Burnt Orange by Stone Island

A prime example of Stone Island's dedication to garment construction innovation and statement dyeing techniques. Cut to Stone Island's comfort fit, a relaxed silhouette with a natural drape through the body. Crafted from a blend of brushed nylon tela and nylon canvas, which is used in high-stress areas to support the main fabric. Brushed nylon offers a softness and comfort similar to cotton while maintaining the durability and resistance specific to nylon fibres, thanks to its composition and brushing treatment. The nylon canvas is resin-coated on the reverse to add weight to the fabric and reinforce the garment’s most delicate construction points. After dyeing with resins and pigments, which create a deep tone and an iridescent effect, the piece is placed inside a net and treated with an enzyme wash. This treatment produces an irregular appearance, wearing away the previously applied colour. The net limits the mechanical friction of the enzymes, allowing the surface pigment to safely wear away in a highly uneven pattern. This mimics natural vintage patina across different fabric weights.

Designed with contrasting patches to the lower sleeves, a concealed front two-way zip closure which sits  under a snap-fastening placket and a packable drawstring hood hidden in the stand collar with a snap fastening for when the weather suddenly turns. Fitted with a back yoke, elasticated cuffs and a drawstring hem for flexibility and a customisable fit. The innovation continues with a contrasting vertical pocket with a concealed snap fastening and an applied angled bellows pocket with snap-fastening flap layered on top. Finished with a stand out Stone Island star embroidery detail on the left sleeve.
