The New NFC Lens: Elevating the C.P. Company Experience

How it works, in summary.

NFC Technology will generally already be running on your smartphone, it's the tech that lets you pay with contactless.

Tap your phone to the new C.P. Company NFC Lens badge and open the notification to take you through to the Product Passport.

For items that don't have the badge, you can scan the QR code on the inside label.

For some older smartphone models, and Androids, you may need to turn on your NFC capabilities in settings.

What is the new NFC Lens?

In short, NFC stands for Near Field Communication, that allows two devices to communicate with one another when they're within a few centimetres of each other. We use it everyday in the form of contactless pay, bus or train passes, and hotel key cards.

C.P. Company have marked their territory this Autumn/Winter, by using NFC tech to deliver exclusive access to content and information about their clothing. Plus, it acts as confirmation of authenticity, knowing you're getting the real deal.

Project Premise:

The main objective behind revamping the C.P. Company Lens Badge centres around elevating the experience of buying and owning C.P. Company garments. Both on a visual level as well as functional and informative, this new development adds a bounty of value to your C.P. Company garb, with an all-in-one touchpoint for authenticity, along with product information, fabric specification and visual content.

How does the NFC Lens technology work?

Given that we use NFC tech in our everyday commute, without even acknowledging it, the NFC tag scanner is usually already switched on on our smartphones. So for garments like C.P. Company's Jackets & Coats or Sweats & Hoodies with the new NFC Lens, all you need to do is tap your phone to it, open the notification and you'll be straight through to the Product Passport landing page where you can read up on the technical makings of your garment, care instructions and more information.

For garments like C.P. Company T-Shirts & Tops that don't have the NFC Lens detail, you can also scan the QR code in the inside label.

The Visuals: New changes to the Lens badge

Not only a new tech enhancement, C.P. Company have made some visual tweaks to the Lens too.

The lens gets a cleaner, matte aesthetic, with more of a balanced logo positioning.

The Watchviewer draws inspiration from the C.P. Company archive, restoring the original logo positioning at the bottom of the Lens.

The materials get an update, with increased opacity and a softer feel, elevating the perception of the Lens.
