On Location: New Season Stone Island AW26

Creating the perfect dichotomy between the natural world and the technical mastery of Osti's brand, we worked with the team at The Lock Up, gave them first picks of this season's Stone Island jackets and let them go on an excursion to the great outdoors to photograph it. 

One of Stone Island's most popular fabrics, and so it should be. Nylon Metal epitomizes the brands approach to fabric experimentation, both in its construction and also how it looks. The fabric is built from a nylon yarn, with three parts (trilobate) with a grey weft and white warp colours. 

With this as its base, the fabric undergoes a double-dyeing, high temperature process. All of this gives the Nylon Metal its uniquely interesting visuals. It's iridescent and has different tones that intensify and change under different light conditions. 

The Nylon Metal was officially debuted in 2005, but it's foundations were established back in the 1990's in the Formula Steel, that was made using a nylon shell, bonded to polyurethane film, giving it a metal-like effect.
