Styles for every kind of Dad
Sunday, 21st June 2026.
It comes around every year, and yet the search history is the same...
'What to buy dad for Father's Day?'.
The results, beard oil, whiskey stones, or something personalised with an anatomically ambiguous drawing from the kids. But, if you're in the market for something different for your old man, let us take over and offer up a selection of Father's Day gifts he'll probably really rate. We've tried to split it up and have narrowed the old geezers down to a couple of stereotypes (they're not mean, some dads are just cut from the same cloth, it's generational).
Plus, if you've happened upon this guide and you're shorter on time than you'd hoped, we've got a Next Working Day Delivery service on lock, when you order by 4pm, for £5.99 (or free if you spend over £100*).
If you wanna skip all the frivolities and cut to the chase, here's how we've divvied them up by type. Or you can just shop our Father's Day gift page, that'll probably spark an 'aha' moment if you're stuck for ideas.
*t&c's apply
The Sportsman: Golf Sundays, Football Saturdays... Padel? Competitive Cornhole? (we don't know)
The Outdoorsman: The man who rallies everyone for a hike on Sundays, hangover or not.
The DIYer (who needs to relax): Mr 'I can do that'. But a Saturdays spent in B&Q call for Sundays on the sofa.
The Footwear Fanatic: Another pair of adidas Originals for the rotation won't hurt.
The Sportsman
The Sportsman: Polo Shirts, Track Tops, Retro Footwear, Baseball Caps.
Whatever games he plays, or watches, or was interested in in years gone by... He'll probably fare well with a polo shirt this year.
Be it Tennis, Golf, or perhaps Yachting, brands like Fred Perry or Lacoste are racket swingingly good at offering up polo shirts that hit a sweet spot between sports and casual, so he can pair up with a decent pair of jeans and some Gazelles and be pretty much covered for dinner, pub, or a family BBQ.
More of a track and field sort of guy back in the day? Or a season ticket holder for his team? A Track Top bridges the gap between shivering in the stalls on a rainy match day and dropping a few layers in the pub after the game. The obvious heavy hitters here are adidas Originals, but if he's in the market for something with a real 80's edge, Sergio Tacchini has a collection of cuts that they pull out the bag year after year, in new colourways and they're always winners.
The Outdoorsman
The Outdoorsman: Cargo Pants, walking accessories, Fleeces, and Windbreakers.
If your holidays growing up were spent hiking various mountains or walking in the Lake District, then we're pretty sure your old man will appreciate some of the gear from brands like Gramicci, Paraboot and Columbia, and some accessories from Snow Peak.
And if this year's Father's Day calls for a Sunday walk with the family (followed by a roast), there are probably a few bits worth grabbing. Good pair of shoes, a windbreaker or a fleece? It might be June, but it's still the UK.
The DIYer (who also needs a rest)
The DIYer: Cargo Pants, Beanies, and Overshirts.
If he's the type who's up at the crack of dawn on Saturday, with a pencil behind his ear ready to start making something, (probably under the watchful eye of mum, who's woken up with a DIY project that is of the utmost importance) then he's probably heard of Carhartt WIP and the hard-grafting gear that they have on offer. A good pair of cargos with reinforced knees. Something with a hammer loop. The Watch Beanie that is on everyone's radar. We've got it.
And then when he wants to sit back with a coffee on a Sunday and give his back a bit of a break, gift him a little bit of comfort with a good pair of slippers or sliders to kick around the house in. And if you want to max out on comfort, check out designer joggers, or sweats and hoodies from brands like Polo Ralph Lauren or Belstaff, ideal for getting perfectly situated in his spot on the sofa to watch a doc or something about cars? If he doesn't usually get dibs on the TV remote, he should at least get it on Father's Day.
The Footwear Fanatic
The Footwear Fanatic: adidas Originals Gazelles and Sambas, or Premium styles from Polo Ralph Lauren.
He's probably been a fan of the same shoes since he was a teenager, and who can criticise, really. It makes adding a new style in the rotation easier this Father's Day. Especially with a new collection of adidas Originals, in a range of colourways. Tried and true. Or go premium with trainers from Polo Ralph Lauren and PS Paul Smith. So if you've got footwear on the agenda this Father's Day, these styles might be for you.
If you feel brave enough to try something else out, why not check New Balance?
Realised you're short on time? Not great at the art of guessing? Don't know his size?
We also have gift cards, so give him the gift of picking it himself.
How do they work?
Click the link below, and you'll go straight to our gift card page. With e-Gift cards, you can select the amount you'd like to load onto their card, leave the recipient's name and email address, and even stick a message on there (great if you haven't been to Card Factory to get a Father's Day card yet). Check out as normal, and we'll then email it across to them and let them know that there are wares waiting to be bought.
There's no fuss on their end either, when they've picked what they want to buy, their e-Gift Card comes with a code on it to enter at the checkout as usual, making the whole transaction pretty smooth.
