How does adidas Originals fit? Clothing and Footwear size guide

adidas Originals probably doesn't need an introduction, but in the interest of consistency, and in case there's anyone on this great island that hasn't seen these three striped luminaries, here's a run down. 

Reimagining classic footwear silhouettes from sports, and setting them up for the everyday, adidas Originals have the footwear market locked down, with styles including the Gazelle, Handball Spezial and the Samba. But, sportsmen and casual folk alike need more than footwear, so explore a curated collection of Track Tops and clothing too. A real multi-faceted contender, adidas Originals influence spans many a subculture, putting them on a real pedestal. Think Britpop icons, Hip-Hip legends and Sportsmen alike. 

But with great clothing online comes a real struggle to get the right size, and nobody makes it easy these days.

We've actually measured the garments, so we have it on good authority to let you know how they fit. It's all still personal preference, but here's a starting point. 

adidas Track Tops are designed to fit with enough give to layer a T-Shirt underneath, and by sporting nature they're a bomber-type silhouette, cinched at the cuffs and waist, but loose enough to circulate a bit of air around your midriff. That being said, since they've become something of a uniform across the music scene, some of them fit pretty loose. 

Results in from our measuring lab (notably, a small office, and a small tape measure) we present the adidas Originals Track Top big names as followed: 

The Beckenbauer: 

A regular fit, which translates as "order your size, get your size". It really does what it says on the tin, cut straight down from pit to waistband. 

The Firebird: 

A loose fit, we'd suggest sizing down on this one if you're after the standard track top shape. The pit to pit measures a couple of inches more than the industry standard, so it's certainly got more give through the torso. 

SST:

Regular fit again, adidas Originals Track Tops truly do just provide a no-fuss fit, this one's similar to the Beckenbauer, straight from pit to waist. 

The logic behind shoe sizing, country to country, is a real corker of a read if you're ever stuck for something to do on a Saturday at 3pm. However, in a pinch you'd measure your foot from heel to toe (the longest one) and translate that number to your regions metrics or grading system.

Footwear Size Guide

There's many a variable that goes into finding out your shoes don't fit. 

1. You don't actually know your size, and the queue for foot measuring at Clarks was just for kids back to school shoes. 

2. You've got a wider foot going into a narrow silhouette. 

3. You've looked at the US size, which is for no reason at all, like 2 sizes different. 

You'll be pleased to know, that if you've acknowledged all of these variables, and know your correct size, adidas Originals trainers will fit, for the most part, exactly as labelled. 

However, if you fall into the realms of point number 2, there are a few silhouettes worth knowing that run a little narrower than usual. In the adidas Originals collection, most notably, the Handball and Gazelle have a narrower profile, so we'd suggest going up half a size.
