Fred Perry: AW20 Collection
Beth Fraser on Tue, Nov 24, 20
The new drop from Fred Perry boasts a classic collection with a familiar twist. This season brings a selection of sweats, jackets, track tops and classic tipped polos in striking new colour ways plus classic tartan shirts and an injection of the familiar Arch branding.
Feel like you’ve seen the arch branding somewhere before? That’s because you have. It’s a twist on the classic Fred Perry branding borrowed from the beloved barrel bag and features on a selection of sweats and track tops making a bold statement back print.
The Twin Tipped polo, crafted from a cotton piqué in a contemporary fit. The new polos are cut to slightly slimmer proportions to give a slim fit silhouette and sees new doses of pastel in their colour palette, whilst keeping with the tipping in the ratio 5-4-4 that has become part of Fred Perry DNA.
Originally, tartan signified the life of the gentry and was adopted into streetwear in the ‘60s as a metaphorical two fingers to the establishment. Tartan still forms a key part of the subcultural uniform and this season the Winter Tartan is bursting with autumnal colours, bags of style and a whole lot of Fred Perry DNA in its threads.
