EQVVS top picks on the 6 accessories you ought to have this season

We've opened up our metaphorical treasure chest of designer accessories from our favourite brands on the EQVVS roster. We're talking bucket hats, baseball caps and crossbody bags from the likes of Carhartt WIP, Polo Ralph Lauren and loads more. Go on, rummage away.

Baseball Caps

Would you believe us if we said, the trusty baseball cap has been on the menu since the 1860's?  However, in the interest of cutting out all the years in between that, we're just doing a round-up of the ones on the EQVVS HQ specials board for SS23.

Polo Ralph Lauren serve up a classic cap for an Americana streetwear look every season, with new colourways and the little polo player embroidered on the front. Or, alternatively, PS Paul Smith have played the “top tier graphic designer” card and finished their baseball cap off with a sprinkling of the famous zebra stripe motif. And, for team “workwear”, we picked a dish from Carhartt WIP so rugged, it's like tearing your teeth into the manliest of burgers.

Why not browse them all here, take your time…

Bucket Hats

Originally designed at the turn of the century for fisherman to do their fishing business, with a bit of rain protection… but now they're more culturally accepted as the only form of headgear that can really prove you're a fan of Oasis.

So, naturally, they're great at a festival and people really go mad for it. In keeping with the musical vibe, given we're all lost in the limbo of post-Glastonbury blues, some of these top picks are from brands that come with a crackin' playlist.

Pretty Green, fronted originally by Liam Gallagher himself, and named after a song by The Jam, are about as musical as a brand can get, and this Bucket Hat is souped up with a logo and reversible design.

Carhartt WIP fit the bill for subcultures a plenty, hitting the mark for skaters, nature-dwellers and inner-city kids alike, each with their own spotify soundtrack.

Socks

Piquing the interest of Pinterest Pinners who look at images and think

‘yeah I reckon I should buy some new white ribbed socks, they seem to make all of these guys outfits look better’

you're in the right place.

Since it's all about cuffing your trouser leg to show off a bit of ankle, or pulling your socks up to mid-shin height when you're wearing shorts, it seems only right to get in on some sport-ribbing sock action from brands like Carhartt WIP, BOSS and Gramicci. If anything, it's worth it to just replace the grey, washed out socks you've got bundled up in your drawer right now.

And if you'd prefer the buttery smooth feeling of pulling on a pair of new cotton socks over your trotters, we've got stripe action from none other than stripe connoisseur, Paul Smith.

Bags

We get it, we're contradicting ourselves by marketing cargo pants and shorts as the ultimate haulage, luggage provider.

But, for when you've got more than just trail mix and a compass, it's important to have a bag to carry round all that other cargo, like your phone and maybe a wallet.

Carhartt WIP accessories are heavy hitters on social media right now, in case you aren't on TikTok or Instagram and everyone's after an essentials bag. However, for your weekend city break with your girlfriend, why not surprise her with a proper overnight bag and not the tattered old backpack you used when you met in Year 7.

And if you're getting rallied up to hit another festival this year, and you've not got a bum bag or a cross body, we can help.

Sunglasses

Handy summertime gear these, whether you need to complete an outfit with some proper slick sunglasses or hide the bloodshot, heavy set eyes from last nights “just one drink at the pub after work” session.

We've got two brands on the agenda for you, new to the EQVVS roster for spring/summer 23. You'll have heard of them, so no need for a big fanfare.

Ray-Ban have been supplying timeless sunnies for aeons now… but for most of us, we've got Tom Cruise c. 1986 to thank for their popularity.

Oakley have sunglasses that'll have you climbing aboard your bicycle or heading out for an early sunrise run before you can say "unobtanium motorcycle grips"

They're the athletes favourite for a reason, get involved.

Jewellery

We don't really know who to thank for the resurgence of the chain necklace trend over the last few years.

Anyone with a girlfriend who has subtly encouraged them to start wearing more jewellery… Was it Paul Mescal in Normal People or Harry Styles?

Since low-key, really simple minimalist outfitting has taken the helm in mens fashion lately, a touch of jewellery seems like the easiest way to level-up.

Mysterious Jeweller have opened up a little treasure chest of shiny goods for us to dig in to and boy are they nice.
